Availability

Daylee lets team members set their availability so they don’t receive prompts or get marked as missing when they’re away.

Setting Availability

Use /daylee ooo or click Set Availability in the App Home tab.

Options:

  • Type: Choose your availability status:

    • Out of Office - general absence (default)

    • Vacation - planned time off

    • Busy - temporarily unavailable but not fully away

  • Scope: All teams or a specific team

    • All teams creates a single record that applies to every team you belong to, including teams you join in the future

    • Specific team applies only to that team - useful when stepping back from one project but staying active on others

  • Date range: Start and end dates for your absence

  • Reason (optional): A short note visible to your team in reports

Example:

Going on vacation December 20-31? Set type to “Vacation” for “All teams” so you won’t receive prompts from any team during that period.

What Happens During Your Absence

While you’re marked as unavailable:

  • You won’t receive standup prompts

  • You won’t be marked as “missed” in reports

  • You’ll be noted as “OOO” in the report so the team knows you’re away

  • Your availability type and reason (if provided) are shown in the report

Admin Actions

Team admins can set availability on behalf of team members. This is useful when a manager knows about a team member’s absence in advance.

Admins can also configure availability notification behavior in team settings:

  • Notify on all changes (default) - the team’s report channel is notified whenever a member updates their availability

  • Notify only for extended absences - notifications only for absences longer than one day

  • Disable notifications - no availability change notifications

Overlapping Availability

A member can have both a global (all teams) availability record and team-specific records. Global availability is checked first - if you’re marked as unavailable globally, you won’t receive prompts from any team, even if you don’t have a team-specific record.

Plan Requirements

Availability tracking is available on Standard, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Free plan workspaces do not have access to availability management. Members on the Free plan who need to skip a day can use the Skip button on the prompt instead.
